"Unfortunately, I would not recommend working with Kay and Co. The quality of the work is poor, and the work provided is not checked for quality before delivery. It was sent with errors which I have had to fix, sent with images of other photographers work even after requesting it be changed, not checked for mobile optimization, images do not fit correctly in the blocks used, and many other things. The copywriting service was just copying our previous legacy files and deleting text here and there. I am quite disappointed to pay 1000s of $$ and have to rebuild the smart files that were delivered. They did offer to fix the errors, but after being so disappointed my wife and I decided to build them ourselves."

Response: We base our designs on our client’s current branding, which you provided with your website and 5 old service guides. Your package included copywriting and smart file creation for 1 brochure and 1 proposal, but we agreed to write and create 5 brochures and 3 proposals. You approved the copy two weeks before the build took place, and our VIP Weekend resulted in 9 brochures, 6 proposals, and 11 automations. All files are optimized for laptops, tablets, and mobile phones, not 28"+ screens. Design is subjective, so we add 3 weeks of support time with our builds to make edits. We offered to make your edits but you declined with ample support time left. We would still like to offer you those edits and any others you request if interested.
Dominic, first and foremost, I would like to apologize for any miscommunication we had at the beginning of our time together. Initially, there was some confusion, which we corrected via discussion. We always base our designs off of our client’s current branding. We found yours on your website and your previous service guides you sent us to review. Typically, the copywriting service includes copywriting for one 1 custom brochure and 1 custom proposal, but we agreed that for you, we will do it for your 5 brochures and 3 proposals along with creating smart files for those 8 items. We sent you the final copy drafts 2 weeks before your build so you could have time to make comments for any editing, and I even reminded you to do this a few days before your scheduled call with our writer. You made no comments/edits, and none were brought up during the call or afterward – actually, you expressed being very pleased during the call with our copywriter. As a result, we assumed that you approved of the copy that would be used for the 8 smart files we would build for you. Regarding everything included in the package (adding packages, adding contracts, adding questionnaires, adding your custom canned emails, creating the smart files, and creating the multiple workflows), we extended our build 1 extra day to finish everything for you. During your VIP weekend, you checked in on our status and requested edits and additional files to be made, which we obliged – at the end of the weekend, you ended up with 9 custom brochures and 6 custom proposals. We know that opinion on design is widely subjective, and so after we hand over the deliverable to our client, we specifically offer 3 weeks of support so we can make revisions based on your feedback. At the beginning of your 2nd week of support, we received smart file edits from you and noted that most were due to the screen size in which you were viewing the files (28+ inches), but we understood where you were coming from and told you the delivery time of our corrections. However, you outright declined to have us complete the revisions you requested and you asked for a refund. After reminding you of our no refunds policy you initialed in our contract, you said you understood and that it would be easier for you to make the edits yourself because you had a specific idea in mind. Despite all of this, we would still like to offer you 3 additional weeks of support time to complete any revisions you request. If this is the end of our journey, we understand, and we wish you and your company nothing but success.
